After traveling through much of Europe for almost five years, I decided to settle in Portugal. Portugal was one of the least affected countries by World War II, yet so much of it was influenced by it. One way that the war permanently changed the country was the many villages that just spank up after the war of displaced persons. Entire regions had their accent and pronunciation changed due to the many newly arrived Displaced Persons.
